Knee injury prevention

Jun 09, 2010

Eggbeatering can be rough on the knees. Are there any preventative exercises I can do to strengthen my knee joints so I can be proactive?

I know exactly what you mean Andrea...  The eggbeater motion definately feels weird on the knees at times. I think its a result of the rotational movement, rather than the typical up/down movements of regular life.  I'd say that the two best leg exercises that would help this are squats and lunges, both of which require stabilization of the knee and will help build strength in the quads.  Undoubtly, stretching will also help combat this ailment.

Still though, after excessive eggbeatering, I always seem to feel a slight strain in the knees...
